Born in 1963, I'm old enough to know that America today has run off the rails. And frankly, it pisses me off. There is more poverty, racial strife and division today than ever before. I believe this is a direct result of politicians trying to "do something" to fix whatever the cause of the day is. Politicians need to stop "doing something". Especially when that something is more often than not dictated by special interests and the victim class in this country.
I am not a right wing Republican, I am not a left wing Democrat, I am deathly tired of the political back and forth that is present in this country. I get it that each party seeks power. I get it that when whatever party "gains power", their goal is to exercise that power. Problem is, it seems to me that those "in power" just want power. That's a problem. The Constitution was written to reign in the power of the State. Today, it seems to me that the State is trying, at every turn, to increase the power of the State.
Until this bastardization of the Constitution is reversed, we will continue to fracture and fall apart as a country.
